Public Safety Cadets

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office has a long history of providing opportunities for our youth to learn about and prepare for careers in law enforcement.  For 25  years, the Sheriff's Office sponsored Law Enforcement Explorer Post 791.  The Explorer Post competed in annual competitions, winning many First, Second, and Third place trophies in State Competitions and the Annual Winterfest Event in Gatlinburg, TN.  Many of our former members are now officers here in Morgan County and surrounding areas including Columbia County, Jasper County, City of Lawrenceville and others.

The Sheriff's Office is excited to now be affiliated with the Public Safety Cadets (PSC).  PSC is a new, national non-profit organization founded and managed by active and retired law enforcement officers and business leaders dedicated to preparing young adults, ages 14-20 (until 21st birthday), for careers and leadership in the public safety profession.  The Morgan County Sheriff's Office shares the PSC Mission of mentoring young adults to serve their communities by providing knowledge, skills, and practical experiences through education and training delivered by public safety professionals that build character, physical fitness, and respect for the rule of law.

The Sheriff's Office is also proud to partner with the Morgan County Fire Department to co-sponsor our PSC unit.  Our cadets will receive education and training in law enforcement and fire services.  This will allow cadets to appreciate the full scope of public safety employment and the daily coordination between law enforcement and fire services to protect our community.

Cadets meet every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan County Public Safety Complex located at 1380 Monticello Rd. Madison, GA.  The registration fee is $25.
