Qualifying Notice - 2024


Qualifying for the offices listed below for all Political Party, Nonpartisan, and Independent candidates will begin at 9:00a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, and end at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024.  Qualifying will be held at the Morgan County Board of Elections and Registration office, 237 North 2nd St, Madison, GA  30650.

Judge, Magistrate Court                                                           $1,782.00

Judge, Probate Court                                                                $1,779.00

Sheriff                                                                                         $2,123.00

Tax Commissioner                                                                     $1,779.00

 Qualifying will run from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. on Monday - Thursday. Qualifying will run from 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. on Friday.

Political party candidate qualifying fees are paid directly to the political party at the time of qualifying.

For other than political party candidates, the qualifying fee will be paid to the Morgan County Board of Commissioners at the time of qualifying.  Payment by check or money order only.

For Independent candidates: A nomination petition of a candidate for local office shall be signed by a number of voters equal to five (5) percent of the total number of registered voters eligible to vote in the last election for the filling of the office the candidate is seeking, and the signers of such petition shall be registered and eligible to vote in the election at which such candidate seeks to be elected.  The nomination petition is to be filed between 9:00a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024 and 12:00p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
