1. How do I register to vote?

If you are 17 and a half, you can register to vote. You must be 18 by election day to vote. You may register online or come by our office at:

2. What ID must I bring to be able to vote?

• Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free voter ID card issued by your county registrar's office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS).
  
• Georgia Driver's License, even if expired
  
• Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the US Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state
  
• Valid US passport ID
  
• Valid US military photo ID

1. What is the difference between a watch and a warning?

• A watch means that conditions are favorable for development. This is the time to prepare.
  
• A warning means that conditions are imminent or occurring.

2. What can the average person do to prepare for an emergency?

• Prepare - Create a ready kit most items are inexpensive and readily available at local home stores.
  
• Plan - Create a disaster preparedness plan that includes specific information about how you expect to reconnect with loved ones, evacuate or reach safety. Periodically conduct fire drills and other activities so that a plan will be in place for various types of emergencies.
  
• Stay Informed – Be informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and appropriate responses.

1. Do I need a building permit?

Building permits are required for any agricultural, residential or commercial construction – including additions, remodels, new construction, outbuildings (including barns, sheds, aircraft hangers or pool houses), swimming pools or docks, manufactured homes, DCA modular homes and existing home relocation.

Permits are not required for painting, re-roofing or minor non-structural repairs.
